I don't think your link is working quite right. I saw something called "Microsoft Table" which featured a picture of someone doing a newscast. Is this what you had in mind?

I'm loving it. So maybe I can afford one of these in about 10 to 12 years if I live that long. Something to look forward too.

Yep. Just watch the newscast - MS's "iPod" on steroids.

Thanks Daiwa. I'm on dialup so probably slow. But I'll give it a shot.

Very Cool

Ya. I stuck with it and saw about 75% of it (dialup). Its cool!

Be nice if you will be able to mount it like a drafting table...and draw with a stylus.

That's just what I was thinking I.R., Great minds think alike eh?

It's a very cool thing, I would love one.

If your dial up is that bad, you need a change. I can't go without cable so why would I go with dial up? I think my computer needs are worth 25 bucks a month. Ofcourse bending over the table wouldn't do my back much good. Now angle that thing up a bit and that would be great.

Okay, everyone back away from thier screens!  :LOL

Now get the screen cleaning wipes and clean off the drool.

Yeah, everyone wants that kind of display, but just how practical is it?

Now if it was a holographic display, much more practical.

I would like a small one by my front door.
I would like one counter in the kitchen to have one.
I would like to have in in a pull out drawer on my desk.
One in the living room for controlling all lights and media in the house.  Temperature too.
Slap a small one in the console of my car too.  Why not?

The fact is . . most of the demos I've seen have not shown me ways that I would use this day-to-day.  How often do I really need to move, stack, rotate, and resize images?

I don't think it would ever be my primary interface or C . . . but it'd be nice to have a few around.

I did have a thought though . . what might this do to the service industry in the US?  Most wait-staff get paid below minimum wage (DON'T GET ME STARTED ON *THAT!!) plus tips.  If restaurants installed these things to order with . . I'm not sure that the staff would get tipped as much.  Same for Barkeeps.  On the other hand . . service might improve.

One last thought . . . skinning would be easy:

Are these surfaces safe to put...stuff on? I noticed that in most of the shots, the drinks were off to the side. Still it is pretty awesome. I'd have to get back to you on what exactly I'd use it for.
